Our Annual Community Art Festival!

  • Our theme is We Choose to Include!
  • Start painting Saturday 7/28/2018 10 AM - 2 PM at Unity Park.

This year, Art in the Park, conceptualized by Amie Sell, celebrates the Special Olympics and the World Cup with these fun activities,
  • flag-making - pick your favorite country flag - whether or not they're still in the World Cup!
  • rainbow community mural - get creative with paint and hand-prints, guided by Gerry Holday!
  • make and pose with chalk drawings of Olympics events!
  • mini-skateboards - ya just hafta see these!
  • Victor Montanez spinning the tunes with his band
  • Tracy Kostenbader, Luis and the rest of the gang from Anysquared
  • local artists, and most importantly, you! 
Make sure the kids have on their painting shirts!

Rolling Rec Starts July 6!

The Rollin' Recreation activity van offers fun for the whole family at a number of parks throughout the city.   The vans drive in, and the fun rolls out - sports, gymnastics and fitness activities. Come join us and enjoy these activities with others in your community.  No registration required, just come out and have fun.

Opera-Matic's Joyful Passage

Saturday, August 11, 6:30pm – 9:00pm

Joyful Passage 2018 is a fun, unique take on a traditional obstacle course, with strangers and neighbors working together to solve abstract problems. Featuring beautiful interactive sculptures and live musical accompaniment, along with Opera-Matic's usual event elements, including takeaway crafts, shadow puppetry, and other participatory, all-ages activities.

Gustavo Cortinas Roots Ensemble

Thursday, August 2, 5pm – 7pm

Drummer and composer Gustavo Cortiñas takes us on a musical journey that will dive into the depth of contrasting Latin American traditions. We'll explore the sounds and rhythms of Latin America, from the Northern Huapango of Mexico, down to southern Zamba of Argentina.
