• Clean-up and weeding done

Chicago, IL, USA (April 21, 2012) LSqers turned out in force to celebrate Earth Day at Unity Park. We had about 60 volunteers - neighbors, families, couples, singles, and lots of children. A special thanks to Betsy Elsaesser from the Unity Park Advisory Council who coordinated the workers.

We planted three red twig dogwood bushes to add winter interest, replaced a forsythia bush, picked up garbage, weeded and all the children learned how to plant flowers and all got to take a flower home!! Music was provided by the incomparable El DJ Rebel X. Thanks to Rosita De La Rosa from Logan Square Neighborhood Association for providing and supervising volunteer parents all of whom were a huge help!
