Unity's Movie is DC League of Super-Pets!

Saturday, August 19, the fun starts at 7 PM, movie around 8 PM

Pet parade, raffle, popcorn and movie!


The Unity Park Advisory Council is thrilled to partner with the Chicago Park District Movies in the Park program to bring you a free showing of DC League of Super-Pets. Sticking with the pet theme, we will also be hosting our first-ever pet parade and raffle sponsored by All Star Pet Care, Squeaky Bea's, and House of Paws.


And it'll be a great summer evening to relax on the lawn at Unity Park, munch on the popcorn (free!), and enjoy the show after the parade and raffle!

Schedule

7:30 PM - Pet Parade: Bring your leashed pet to strut their stuff around the park and get a free doggie bag (while supplies last). Costumes encouraged!

8 PM - Raffle Announcement: Starting at 7 PM, you can purchase $5 raffle tickets for a House of Paws grooming service or $75 gift bag from Squeaky Bea's. We'll announce winners at 8! 

About DC League of Super-Pets

Krypto the Super-Dog (Dwayne Johnson) and Superman (John Krasinski) are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime side by side in Metropolis. However, Krypto must master his own powers for a rescue mission when Superman is kidnapped.

After 2 cancellations because of the threat of rain and thunderstorms, this event has been rescheduled to 8/2!


The starts are back for Porchlight Music Theatre's Broadway in your Backyard series at Unity Park tomorrow, Tuesday July 12th from 6-7 PM!

Bring a picnic blanket or chairs, and invite all your friends for a magical evening filled with music and fun!

It promises to be even more impressive than last year's concert!

 

UPAC is able to bring the concert to its neighbors as part of Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks series, supported by the Mayor’s Office and Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.


This event is free and open to all.

Art in the Park - Building Together

Saturday, July 22, 10 AM - 2 PM at Unity

Join us at Unity as the park transforms into an open air studio! Our annual community art event is on again this summer, and the theme for this year is Building Together!


👩‍🎨 Art in the Park: Building Together. This Saturday, AnySquared artists will transform Unity Park into an open arts studio, bringing together hundreds of artists of all ages and skill levels to create art and community. 

🌳 Families, accompanied children, and artists of every level are welcome to join.

🏙️ By Building Together, we can explore and imagine the world around us, and create something beautiful with our families, friends, and neighbors.

🎨 This event is free to the public, all art supplies are provided, along with refreshments, and El Dj Rebel X playing music.

    FEATURE PROGRAM    

Grant Park Music Festival - Concert at Unity Park!

Thursday, July 20, 6:30 - 7:30 PM at Unity Park

Each summer, the Grant Park Music Festival brings music and fun to neighborhoods across Chicago featuring the Festival's String Fellows in an eclectic mix of music for string quartet. Bring a blanket or picnic chair and join us in your neighborhood park for a free, hour-long, family-friendly concert.

The Grant Park Music Festival String Fellows will play instruments provided by Violins of Hope, a private collection of violins, violas, and cellos that once belonged to Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust. The presentation of these instruments is hosted by JCC Chicago.

Bring a blanket or picnic chair and join us at Unity Park for a free, hour-long, family-friendly concert with a little something for everyone to enjoy!
